Our Minister

Rev. Peter Thomas joined Brentwood Baptist Church in 1999. After studying and teaching science and information technology, Peter then studied theology at London Bible College (now London School of Theology). He has been a minister for over 20 years and previously served churches in Tunbridge Wells and Borehamwood. Peter is married to Ruth and they have three teenage children.

Peter currently also serves as Moderator of Churches Together in Brentwood.

Our Youth Worker

After working with Oasis Trust, Steve Tinning qualified in theology and as a professional Youth Worker with the Centre for Youth Ministry. Since coming to Brentwood in 2002 Steve has worked with young people in churches, schools and in the community. He is married to Lauren.

Steve has a key role in Junction 28, the umbrella organisation for Christian youth work in the town.

 

Our Outreach Worker

Michele Gibbins has been our outreach worker since 2004. As well as running our ALPHA courses and caring for new Christians, she encourages the whole church in prayer and outreach. Michele is married to Noel and they have one daughter.

 

Our Administrator

Lin Styles runs the Church Office which is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm. Lin manages the church diary and produces everything from our weekly Service Sheets to all our publicity materials, as well as providing administrative help to our Minister.

 

Elders and Deacons

Our Minister Rev Peter Thomas and Elder Paul Taylor oversee the spiritual life of the church. Our Church Secretary Bryan Dedman, Treasurer Shaun De Boo and seven Deacons are in charge of the administration, facilities and finance of the Church. As a Baptist Church the whole membership meeting every other month at our Church Members Meetings have responsibility for the church.

 

Action Groups

 Pastoral Care is overseen by the Elders and the responsibility of the whole church. Other areas of our church life are overseen by small groups including Elders, Deacons and church members. The groups are:
