What is Alpha?
Alpha is an nationwide adult course which investigates and explores Christianity in a relaxed, informal and friendly way.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone. Especially if you thought Church might be boring, or if you have attended Church, and did not understand what it was all about. Maybe you wanted to ask some pertinent questions, but were never given the opportunity.
When is the next Alpha Course?
This course starts on Thursday 29th September 2011
Where is the Alpha Course being held?
At the Christ Church Centre, Warley, Brentwood, CM13 3AA
The following is an example of how an evening at the Alpha Course is run:
- We start with a two course meal, provided “free of charge”. This helps everyone to get to know each other, and therefore help to be more open and willing to speak during chat back time.
- After the meal, there is a short talk. Alpha follows a set program and each week investigates a variety of interesting subjects, such as: Christianity, Is it boring, Untrue or Irrelevant?” and “Why did Jesus die?”. This presentation lasts about 30 mins.
- Alpha ends with a “Chat Back” time. This is the opportunity to have your say, and to ask and discuss anything you wish. No question, remark, or opinion on alpha is too extreme, and normally discussions are open and frank. Participants often comment that this is the “best bit” of the evening.
