Baptist Missionary Society (BMS) is the mission organisation of the Baptist Union, and currently works in approximately 34 countries on 4 continents.
The BMS believes in complete mission which is an approach that stays true to the Christian call of evangelisation without neglecting the responsibility to take care of the needs of the poor.
The BMS works through various staff and teams of volunteers and provides funding, training and expertise in various areas, such as:
- Church Planting
- Disaster Relief
- Education
- Health
Brentwood Baptist Church have supported the BMS in various ways, not least a summer austerity lunch, where members are encouraged to donate what they would normally spend on their Sunday Roast dinner to the BMS, whilst enjoying one another’s company and fellowship over a simple meal.
Another way the Church supports the BMS is for the members and the congregation to give a greeting for a Church Christmas Card to the fellowship with the money that would normally be spent on purchasing cards, being donated to the BMS.
