Samaritans Purse is an International relief and development Christian organisation who work through local churches.  Brentwood Baptist Church support this initiative particularly at Christmas by participating in "Operation Christmas Child" which encourages everyone to wrap a shoebox in Christmas paper, and pack it full of childrens toys, sweets, toiletries, books, pencils etc.

A small donation for the shipment is encouraged, and there are various age groups for both boys and girls for which you can provide gifts.

The boxes go to the following countries:

Belarus, Bosnia, Haiti, Kenya, Kosova, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Montenegro, Mozambique, Romania, Serbia, Swaziland, Ukraine, Zimbabwe.

This charity give a lot of children joy and happiness when receiving these shoe boxes.  Some of the items they have never seen before.

It's never too early to start, storing up goodies to send to these children.

Start today, and if you need more information on how to pack a box, please go to  www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk

The 2012 London Olympic is only just around the corner, so Samaritans Purse have decided to get into the Olympic spirit as part of this year's Operations Christmas Child campaign.

How?  By wrapping, packing and sending sports-themed shoe boxes to children in need….of course!

Look out for the deadline date, as these boxes are shipped out in November each year.
