Entertainment Events

We try and arrange an entertaining event at least once each year, sometimes more. Over the last few years we have welcomed a Searchlight Theatre Company, Rev. Elvis, held quiz nights, murder mysteries and barn dances.

In March 2019 we were delighted to host Andy Kind a comedian who has been performing for over 20 years. He’s recently coined the term Promedian as he has moved in to being a (Pr)eaching C(omedian). He is currently touring his show “Hidden in Plain Sight” which was not only hilarious but also contained a gospel message.

Keep your eyes on this page to find out what we have planned next.

 Good Friday Morning Service

Fri: 09:30 - 10:30

We raise early on the bank holiday to remember the ascension of Jesus from the overnight court hearings to the hill where he would be crucified. This service is both solemn and reflective as we focus on the great sacrifice God endured for us all.

Many of our congregation take the opportunity to go directly to the walk of witness held immediately after the service

 Walk of Witness

Fri: 11:00 - 12:00

All the churches of Brentwood gather together as a sign of our unity to walk in silence together behind the cross bore by a number of those amongst us as a witness to the town for Jesus. Surprised faces look on as the procession of Christians keeps on coming and coming till at last we are gathered as one in the town centre. Each year a different church will lead us all in a time of worship before we part ways to continue the works of Jesus in our different areas.

 Easter Egg Hunt

Good Fri: 14.00 - 15.00

For the past 4 years we have headed to the middle of Railway Square to host an Easter Egg Hunt. Plastic eggs are hidden around the grass, tress, benches and playground. When those have been found they are then exchanged for edible alternatives. In 2019 we had about 40 children searching and gave away over 200 edible Easter themed treats.

 OPEN - Praise

Fri: 19:30 - 21:30

Celebrate Good Friday the way it is meant to be and don’t hold back because I promise we won’t.

Many confuse the death of Jesus on Good Friday for the day that God’s plan was taken off track and that he set it back when Jesus was raised to life again by the Holy Spirit on Easter Sunday. We gather together in the evening, when Jesus’ body would have been laid in the grave, to rejoice that it was this sacrifice that brought our freedom from that very same fate.

The music is as exuberant & lively as the life we have been freely given so you had better bring your best dancing shoes.

 Family BBQ

Easter Sat: 12:00 - 15:00

Bring your own family or join with our’s everyone is welcome on Easter Saturday when we host a family BBQ for the church and the local community to come together and enjoy some food. Our egg-celent chefs light the BBQ in the car park and then scramble the food in to Kings Hall where the rest of us crack on eat and chat.

In the past there has also been space for young ones to do a craft or two, play with lego and other toys, we’ve opened up the pool and table tennis spaces (as a chance to beat each other in friendly competition), there has been a table quiz (for families to try and prove that they are egg-heads and win some extra Easter Eggs too).

Now that I think I’ve Egg-sausted all the egg puns and yolks I’ll head for the eggs-it.

 Easter Sunday Service

Sun: 10:30 - 12:00

After a busy weekend we reach the biggest day of the season, well we’d actually we’d suggest the year. You’ll be meet with the scent of flowers at the door as we celebrate the new life that Jesus Christ demonstrated at Easter with everything we have. We glorify God with decorating the building with bunches of flowers in every isle as well as abundant bouquets on every column.

Like every other Sunday we worship, pray to and hear from God as a family just this time we take a bit more time on the celebrating part.
