 Church Camping Weekend

5th - 7th Jul 2019

Every year we make the most of the great weather and head out into the unexplored wilderness of Essex, or at least that’s what we tell the children, for a weekend of time together. From our fabric village we venture out to the local attractions or on the famous Saturday morning hike before lighting the fires and tucking into our best effort at a BBQ. When the weekend is done and the goodbyes have been said we make our way reluctantly back to Brentwood to plan for the next year.

If you’d love to come along and put the Essex weather to the test get in contact, though please don’t worry about equipment as we tend to have a spare of everything (including tents). All we ask is that you let us know ahead of time so we can do our best to get it all sorted.

30th Jul, 6th Aug, 13th Aug, 20th Aug & 27th Aug

New for this year we have a summer drop in. We are going to open up our building for any young people (Year 5 to year 8) that want to drop in an have some fun, each week there will be a mystery film and a special activity as well as some games, X-box, table tennis and pool. And I nearly forgot we’re going to order some pizza in each week too.

You are welcome to drop in any week, but if you can let us know who to expect that would be great, you can also pre-pay through Eventbrite.

Warrior Camp

3rd - 10th Aug 2019

Warrior Camp is a children’s camp run by the missionary organisation WEC. The week is organised, staffed and run by the fabulous team of volunteers (including a couple of people from our church), which means all you need to do is drop off your children and forget about them for a week (and pick them up afterwards).

While they are away they will be involved in a whole host of activities a normal day at camp includes'; Quiet time, Breakfast, Jobs and tidying, Morning Worship, Tent Inspection, Morning games and activities, Lunch, Rest time, Afternoon wide game, Free time, Dinner, Evening games, Evening Worship (led by a WEC Missionary), Supper, Quiet time, Bed time.

It is fully packed, it is tiring but it is a fantastic week!

For more information head to WECcamps if you are interested in coming speak to our youth worker (who has booking forms and information).

To show our love for our neighbours we are hosting a charity fundraiser for Richard House Children’s Hospice, based in Beckton East London, with a variety of activities going on throughout the day. Our main attraction is the vastly impressive 12.5 hour long stint that pianist Anne Nickels will be playing throughout the day. Come and show your support and let’s help to raise money for a great cause.

Soul Survivor

17th - 22nd Aug 2019

Soul Survivor is a summer festival that has been running since 1993. Over 4 weeks in Scotland, Stafford and Peterborough around 20,000 people are set to attend the camps in 2019. We are going to make up a small percentage of that, we are heading to Week B which is in Peterborough.

The Soul Survivor trip is planned in partnership with a number of other churches under the title UniteTwelve, so we have volunteers, young people and families from at least 6 churches, last year there were over 60 of us in the group and we had a fantastic time.

If you want more information head to Soul Survivor or if you want to book speak to our Youth Worker.

You may know that 2019 will be final Soul Survivor Festival however the UniteTwelve group are hoping to find an alternative that we can attend as a group in 2020.
