Lighting Up Brentwood
Sat: 12:30 - 19:00
30th Nov 2019
As the Christmas season rolls around the churches of Brentwood join with Brentwood Borough Council to host one of the best attended events of the year up and down the High Street. Families flock to the see the myriad of stalls offering all kinds of delicacies and Christmassy goods while the shops struggle to keep their shelves stocked.
Whilst all the busyness ensues the Churches run all 3 stages along the High Street to keep the thousands of local residents in good cheer. From school choirs to celebrity appearances, the barrage of talent keeps the crowds festively entertained.
To round off the evening a Christian message is delivered to remember the ‘Reason for the Season’ that is the miracle of Jesus Christ coming to earth to be born as a baby.
Carols by Candlelight
Thu: 19:30 - 21:00
Though Kings College Cambridge we are not, I’d dare say we have a lot more fun.
As the nights draw in and the pressures of the big day loom overhead, come aside and take a minute to reflect. As the warm light of the candles twinkle around, be renewed by the drinks and nibbles as they pass you by. Oh and we have a right good sing song too.
Carols @ The Swan
Tue: 20:00 - 22:00
Come and enjoy Christmas carols in an unusual setting! We are most grateful to The Swan in Brentwood High Street for welcoming the popular Carols @ The Swan event. It’s informal and relaxed and a great opportunity to join in the Christmas spirit with singing carols.
Carols in the Community
Sun: 16:00 - 17:00
The good news of Jesus wasn’t meant to be sung at one another but proclaimed to all the earth. We join with our neighbours in Railway Square each year to share in carols, hot beverages and more than a few minced pies. There is nothing quite as lovely as drawing together as a community to share something as simple as a season greeting.
Christmas Morning Service
10:30 - 11:30
25th Dec 2019
To celebrate one of the biggest days in the Christian calendar and the summit of the holiday season we gather together and share the day with one another. The children get to show off their new toys as the rest of us get to “awww”, “ahhh” and guess what exactly a Mega-Zord-Transform-Dactile is.
12:30 - 18:00
25th Dec 2019
Christmas is a special time of year for so many but some people find it can be a difficult one.
Every Christmas Day the Gaughan family (Patrick, Rosemary, Nicholas & Beverley) invite anyone and everyone to come and share the special day with them. The roasts are cooked till they are nice & crispy, the gravy is so thick it needs a nudge to get it moving and don’t even get me started on the turkey.
After everyone has done their best to turn themselves into a Christmas pudding, we move onto the entertainment including; the Queen’s Speech, party games, sing a-longs, stand up and more tea & coffee than ought to be had.
Don’t miss out, we’d love to have you.
